Chapter 1145: Beg Forgiveness

After countless flying blades, Chu Li had turned Zhao Chun into a bloody gourd in which he was too ghastly to look at.

Chu Li looked at him coldly from the steps with his hands behind his back.

The martial arts field was dead silent as the people looked at Zhao Chun indifferently.

Since Zhao Chun had set a strong impression after killing two Gale Branch disciples, the others dared not disobey him. Nevertheless, they could only resent and fear him instead of respecting him.

Therefore, when they witnessed Chu Li teaching him a lesson, they were exhilarated and wanted to cheer joyfully.

On the other hand, Kou Qiong and two other men were on pins and needles.

They were aware of the rules of the Holy Church of Light, where the disciples must not harm each other or those involved would be punished heavily.

‘Young Master was sent here for punishment. However, not only did he not reflect on his actions, but he’s doing this now. Unquestionably, Young Master will only face heavier punishments. It’s not worthwhile to be punished because of this fella.’

Chu Li looked at Zhao Chun as he said, “Even if a disciple of Gale Branch were to be killed, you don’t get to do it. How dare you kill my men as you like! I’m only sparing you because you’re a part of Great Light Peak, get lost from Gale City now or I’ll beat you up each time I see you!”

Due to the multiple slashes on his face, Zhao Chun looked awful. He glared at Chu Li hatefully as he was enraged.

  Chu Li yelled, “Get lost!”

“Zhao Dahe, I’m Gale Branch’s Branch Leader — it was ordered by the Saint herself. You dare go against the Saint’s orders?” Zhao Chun gritted his teeth.

Chu Li smirked. “The Saint only sent you here because I was absent. Since I’m here now, you should get out of my sight. I’ll have to let the Saint know that although Gale Branch disciples are no longer disciples of the Holy Church, they’re still a part of the outer peak. So you’ve committed a wicked crime by killing them!”

“They were guilty of crimes that deserve more than death!” Zhao Chun responded.

Chu Li shook his head. “No matter how heavy their sins were, as long as they didn’t betray their country and were not traitors, they didn’t deserve to die. It was merely your selfish motives to display strength… Alright, stop blabbering. Remember my words, I’ll beat you up every time I see you in Gale City. Get lost!”

“You…” Zhao Chun stared at him as he was not resigned to the outcome.

His only weapon now was that his presence here was justifiable as it was the Saint who had personally appointed him as Gale Branch’s Branch Leader. As long as the designation remained, Zhao Dahe dared not do anything to Zhao Chun apart from hurting him physically.

Chu Li turned to look at the people on the martial arts field. Then, he scoffed. “What are you looking at? Move along. If he orders you later, are you going to obey him or not?”

Upon hearing him, the crowd quickly dispersed.

They understood what Chu Li meant. If Zhao Chun were to use his authority as the Branch Leader to order an attack on Zhao Dahe, they would be disobeying him if they did not attack Zhao Dahe. Of course, since they dared not attack Zhao Dahe too, they would simply be put in an awkward spot. Thus, it was best that they stayed out of this.

In the blink of an eye, the other disciples were nowhere to be found. Instead, they hid in corners to watch the incident secretly.

Chu Li waved his hand at Zhao Chun. “You can get out of my sight now!”

While he said that, he shot two more blades at Zhao Chun.

Since Zhao Chun was already weak and powerless, he could not dodge the attack. That resulted in two more cuts on his body.

Chu Li then aimed four more blades at him, leaving four more wounds on Zhao Chun’s body.

Seeing as the situation was unfavorable to him, Zhao Chun knew that although his vitality would be seriously damaged even if he did not die, it would be tough for him to recover. A wise man would not fight when the odds were against him. Hence, he quickly escaped.

Chu Li yelled, “You’re thinking of a way to get to Great Light Peak to complain about me, aren’t you?”

Zhao Chun halted when he heard him before he scurried away.

Chu Li shook his head as he watched him disappear.

Zhao Chun’s face was completely ruined. Even with the help of spirit medicine, it would not return to the way it was.

Chu Li’s blade energies contained a hint of the Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture’s force which would cause the wounds to remain forever. Unless one had martial art skills that surpassed his or they had cultivated the Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture, the wounds could not be removed completely.

Kou Qiong fluttered over with two men and looked at him helplessly.

Chu Li chuckled. “Why are you looking at me like that? I’m not dead.”

“Young Master, you’re in deep trouble.” Kou Qiong sighed. “What will the Saint think? She’ll think that you’re punishing Zhao Chun to warn the others and that you’re expressing your dissatisfaction toward her arrangement.”

Chu Li responded, “I am dissatisfied.”

“No matter what, you can’t just beat Zhao Chun up. He’s the Branch Leader now, and the disciples of Great Light Peak must not harm each other.” Lu Shu was worried. “Young Master, that wasn’t a smart move at all. You’ve let your emotions affect your decision!”

Chu Li cast a sidelong glance at him.

Lu Shu quickly changed his tone. “Yes, yes, I made a wrong remark. Zhao Chun is truly hateful!”

Feng Wuji commented, “In my opinion, you should’ve done it discreetly instead of beating him up in public. Lure him during the dark, then teach him a lesson. He won’t know who did it!”

Chu Li shook his head. “If I have to put up with a fella like him, what’s the point of living? Alright, don’t worry.”

“The Saint will penalize you for sure.” Feng Wuji was concerned.

Kou Qiong rubbed his neck. Then, he suggested, “How about we just eradicate him?”

Lu Shu and Feng Wuji quickly nodded as they agreed.

They were all merciless beings. They felt that Zhao Chun should just be eliminated, lest others gossip about it.

Chu Li remarked, “Do you think that the Saint’s a fool? We won’t be able to hide from her. But as soon as I find a way, I won’t let him live!”

He did not want to get involved anymore as he could simply kill Zhao Chun anytime he wanted to. If Chu Li waited for a while, he could just kill him in the name of Heavenly Demon Sect.

For now, he would let Zhao Chun live.

Besides, it was the perfect timing to increase his prestige to gain the support of those in Gale Branch.

So far, it seemed like it had worked out effectively. After destroying Zhao Chun, the people of Gale Branch were more loyal to him.

“Young Master, indeed, we shouldn’t do anything to him anymore,” Kou Qiong added. “But the martial art world is bound to be dangerous, an accident might happen.”

Chu Li grinned and nodded satisfyingly.

Right away, the three men understood tacitly.

“I’ll make a trip to Great Light Peak. That way, Zhao Chun won’t be able to cause any trouble. If he oppresses any of you again, don’t go head-on against him!”

“Yes.” The three of them nodded.

They were adept at this. Previously when Zhao Chun was here as the new Branch Leader, they had always remained obedient.

Chu Li knew that Zhao Chun would take at least two months to recover his vitality as he needed time for channeling and treatment. While his injuries seemed like flesh wounds, they contained forces from the Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture.

Later, Chu Li walked out of Gale City and vanished as he performed his light-body technique.

In the evening, he arrived at the Divine Light Basilica on Great Light Peak.

When the green-robed lady on the steps noticed him, she looked at him in shock. She quickly went inside the basilica to report his arrival before she called him in a while later. “Junior Brother Zhao, come in.”

Chu Li gave her a fist salute. “Thank you, Senior Sister.”

He paced into the basilica where he met the Saint, Sun Mingyue.

Sun Mingyue was sat behind her desk. She was dressed in white, and her face was covered with a white veil such that only her eyes could be seen. At the moment, Sun Mingyue was reading memorials to the throne as though she did not notice him.

Chu Li greeted her with a fist salute. “Saint, I’m here to beg for forgiveness!”
