Chapter 314: Fang Xing’s Bounty

Fang Xing arrived around the time the cultivators were trying to break the formation. He cursed observed the current situation while cursing at the Ghost prince for fun, but he was actually more anxious and curious to see who was inside the formation than anyone else. It wasn’t until someone found out about the shortcut into the formation and everyone began to fight for it that he saw Xu Linyun. That she—his shijie—would actually step out at a time like this to protect him—her little shidi—even while everyone else was fighting to kill him had left him rather surprised.

Even when Xiao Xue and Hou Guimen had stood up for him outside Chaotic Stone Valley, they’d been standing up for Fang Xiaojiu and—more importantly—the pride of all Snowy Mountain. As for this long-time-no-see Qing-Yun Sect’s Shijie Linyun, the one she stood up for was none other than Fang Xing !

Of course, it just so happened the person she’d been trying to protect here wasn’t the real Fang Xing.

From the moment that bandit crow spoke, Fang Xing was certain of who it was. Although he couldn’t tell how he managed to get inside the Mysterious Domain as well, it was definitely his big crow!

In the end, Fang Xing decided to return to his real self. He couldn’t just sit and watch his crow being chopped up by all these people, and he also didn’t want Xu Linyun’s efforts to protect him fall flat. Since everyone had thought the little demon Fang Xing was indeed inside the formation, then inside the formation he shall be….

Hence, Fang Xing used the least amount of time possible to prepare, activated his Flag of Ten Thousand Spirits to hide, and returned to his original appearance.

Fang Xing took advantage of the beast cloud’s cover to fly directly into the sky. As he flew higher, the appearance of Fang Xiaojiu given to him by the Mask of Wanluo began to fade and his true appearance returned. Rather delicate and pretty facial features, a smirk of ridicule, grey hair mixed with messy white strands of hair, and a uniquely brash and arrogant laugh….

“Fang Xing is right here! Who dares bully my bird?” This loud shout not only caused all the surrounding cultivators to flinch, even Prince Chu Huang’s expression changed.

The golden crow on the other hand nearly burst into aggrieved tears as he yelled back, “You bastard, why did you only show up now?”

“Haha, so it’s all my fault you pretended to be me without my abilities and were left with people after your head?”

“Where’s your conscience, you little bastard?” the golden crow spitefully yelled back, “Those people said something about requiring you to apologize to the Huangfu clan in three days and I couldn’t stand it anymore so I borrowed your name to kill them. How can you blame me without even thanking me?”

“Oh? So that’s the reason?” Fang Xing was a bit surprised but quickly laughed it off without questioning it any further. He landed on top of the golden crow’s back and looked to Xu Linyun with a smile. “Shijie Linyun, long time no see!”

Xu Linyun was also a bit surprised at Fang Xing and had a somewhat startled expression, but after a long moment, she finally showed a smile and nodded.

Fang Xing laughed. “There’s no need to be scared anymore now that I’m here!”

Xu Linyun smiled back while looking at all the cultivators in the air. “I was never scared!”

Fang Xing straightened his back and looked towards the other cultivators. His pupils dilated and he drew in a breath before letting out a long unceasing whistle filled with his powerful Qi. The sound splashed out in all directions like a giant, unceasing tidal wave that caused the people nearby to become pale. Some people weren’t even able to remain airborne and started falling towards the ground.

Fang Xing’s gaze was cold and sharp. “Fang Xing is right here. Who wanted to kill me, again?” His lengthy whistle was meant to both intimidate his enemies and send out a challenge—he wanted to see precisely how many people still wanted to kill him now that he’d shown himself. The cultivators in the air could sense the malice surrounding Fang Xing and their hearts began to quiver, but most prominent of all were the questions in their minds.

“Didn’t they say Fang Xing was a fake? The real one showed up now?”

“How treacherous that Chufung Prince is! He lied and told us the golden crow was the criminal, but the truth was that little demon was inside the formation all along!”

“This cloud of beasts looks a bit familiar….”

“Who cares, this must be the real little demon. Let’s seize him first!”

People from all directions cowered and discussed amongst themselves while the murderous intent continued to grow.

While the discussion continued, someone slowly walked up and softly asked, “Are you Fang Xing or a Snowy Mountain disciple?” This person was none other than Prince Chu Huang, whose brows were tightly knitted in confusion. He’d originally decided to capture this golden crow before dealing with Fang Xiaojiu, but Fang Xiaojiu had unexpectedly revealed his true self and directly admitted his identity. It was here that he recognized a serious issue: this little demon had been worth a summons and Fang Xiaojiu had also been worth another summons, but now that Fang Xing had admitted to his identity, the two people had become one and he was no longer sure he’d be able to obtain two summons.

Prince Chu Huang also couldn’t understand why Fang Xing would do this. No matter who this trapped beast had been or whatever relationship it had with Fang Xing, Prince Chu Huang believed Fang Xing shouldn’t have revealed himself so readily right now. This beast had killed four Huangfu clan ambassadors and was sentenced to death—there wouldn’t be mercy no matter who might plead for leniency on their behalf. In all of Jambu, there was no one who could remain alive after killing people belonging to the Huangfu clan! For Fang Xing to show himself now and admit his identity, did he really want to accept responsibility for everything that had happened?

Although the identity of Fang Xiaojiu had drawn the ire of the Huangfu clan as well, it wasn’t enough to be sentenced to death. The Huangfu clan’s young master had placed a bounty on him, but that was simply because he hadn’t begged for forgiveness within the three days he’d been given. If this brat had been clever and explained why he hadn’t managed to make it in time while fully admitting his fault, Huangfu’s young master would certainly not kill him. In fact, the young master might have even rewarded him with something as a show of great mercy and power….

The Huangfu clan was referred to as the hidden royal family. To control all of Jambu, they couldn’t show favor to only the western deserts—they had to seek balance. Fang Xiaojiu had angered the western deserts, and the Huangfu clan intended to show everyone they had the power and ability to control all of Jambu’s cultivators by forcing Fang Xiaojiu to admit his fault. Doing such a thing would flaunt the Hangfu clan’s status, but they couldn’t so readily offend the Snowy Mountain either; once their main objective had been reached, they’d turn to placating Chufung in response. Prince Chu Huang understood this well and felt nothing but confusion towards Fang Xing’s actions….

‘Is the little brat too stupid?’ After thinking everything through—especially all of the things Fang Xiaojiu had done so far—Chu Huang felt the cause truly might be stupidity.

Fang Xing looked at Prince Chu Huang in confusion as to why he would ask if he was Fang Xing or a Snowy Mountain disciple. “Is there any difference?”

Prince Chu Huang calmly replied, “There is naturally a difference. After we hand you over to the Huangfu clan, if you are a Snowy Mountain disciple, I will speak in your favor before him for the sake of Snowy Mountain. If you are the little demon Fang Xing who angered the Huangfu clan, however, I imagine there wouldn’t be anyone in all of Jambu who’d be able to save your life….” His expression cooled as he looked towards Fang Xing. “You’ll want to think it through!” The hint he was giving was very clear.

Hearing this, Fang Xing sighed and pointed towards the golden crow. “You’re saying he’s dead for sure?”

Prince Chu Huang nodded. “It used your name to kill four ambassadors from the Huangfu clan—it will naturally die. If you get involved in these muddied waters, you also end your own chance at living!”

Fang Xing sighed and looked at the golden crow. “Why did you kill the four ambassadors of the Huangfu clan?”

Noticing Fang Xing’s tone was very different, the golden crow screeched in a peculiar manner, “Motherf*cker you little bastard, if you had been here then I’m sure you’d have killed them too! That’s why I killed them for you! Are you trying to wash your hands of everything?”

Initially speechless, Fang Xing replied, “Nonsense! Why would I kill four ambassadors for such a small matter?”

A smile appeared on Prince Chu Huang’s face when he heard this as he believed his purpose had possibly already been achieved. For the sake of his main goal, Fang Xing and Fang Xiaojiu couldn’t be the same person right now. As long as they were two different people they were also two different summons, and it was only by differentiating the two of them for now that he’d be able to hand both over to the Huangfu clan….

The golden crow began crying and cursed out, “Bastard, what happened to our code of brotherhood!”

However, the next words from Fang Xing shut up the golden crow completely and caused Prince Chu Huang’s face to drastically change. “If it had been me—your uncle—I’d have killed at least ten of those ambassadors!”

Fang Xing’s voice was as violent as waves sweeping out into the distance, allowing anyone and everyone to hear it. His words were clearly stated and there was no doubt where Fang Xing stood. His mount had killed four Huangfu clan ambassadors and had committed a great crime, yet his master was actually thinking this was too little and said if he’d been there, he would have killed all ten of them. Was this not intentionally trying to offend the Huangfu clan? Was this not actively trying to end his only chance at survival?

Prince Chu Huang’s gaze grew cold as he muttered lightly to himself, “Seems there’s no other way to help make you any smarter….”

Fang Xing rolled his eyes and looked at Prince Chu Huang with a half-smile. “You golden turtle egg, are you saying I—your uncle—am stupid?”

Prince Chu Huang nodded without hesitation. “You are indeed stupid. What you said just now was heard by all the cultivators here. Unless you kill them all, you will never be able to receive the forgiveness of the Huangfu clan!”

“Then listen up clearly!” Fang Xing straightened up his back and declared loud and clear, “The Jing Guang branch wanted to kill me, so I killed them all. They wanted to kill me, so I killed them, this is the most fair thing in the world. This Huangfu clan must have gotten tired of eating plain tasteless leaves and decided they wanted to butt into my business, and they even have such large guts as to send ten ambassadors out into the Mysterious Domain to try to haveme go and apologize to them ….

“For my sworn brother to have killed four of these ambassadors is because of his leniency! If it had been me, I would have killed all ten of them! I have never offended the Huangfu clan, it is the Huangfu clan that offended me!”

At the end of his speech, Fang Xing swept his gaze across all the cultivators and threw down a bounty summons that traveled with the wind. His voice, however, was overbearing to the extreme. “I’ve placed a bounty here today. The young master of the Huangfu clan is so blind that he dared to offend me. His crimes are unforgivable, and if he does not come and kneel in front of me to ask for myforgiveness, I will annihilate their entire Huangfu branch to serve as an example against anyone else who wishes to do the same!”

Each word was like a thunderbolt striking in the middle of a sunny day. The surrounding area shook and the cultivators who’d been close to Fang Xing moved backwards with dropped jaws. This wasn’t because of how much Qi Fang Xing placed in his speech, however; the words themselves had simply been too startling.

Wanting to have the young master of the Huangfu clan come to him to beg for forgiveness?

  Annihilate the entire Huangfu branch?

Had this little brat eaten the guts of a dragon?

No, not even the dragon tribe of the Azure Seas would dare say such things!
