Right as the imp’s claws were about to reach the Wanluo disciple’s neck, the imp’s expression changed. An invisible force drew up from behind the imp and snatched its neck before dragging it up into the air. When the Wanluo disciple felt only a gust of wind against his back without any sign of being attacked, he turned and was overjoyed at what he saw before he made his way over to the side of the horse carriage.

By now, Fang Xing had raised his head and was looking at the imp in confusion. “Why did you make a face at me?”

As though it couldn’t properly speak, the imp let out strange squeaking noises while kicking out its limbs to unsuccessfully escape.

“I don’t understand what you’re saying!” Fang Xing pointed and the invisible force began to tighten. A loud crack resounded in the air as the imp’s neck was snapped before it was tossed to the ground.

In that brief moment, the chaos surrounding the basin seemed to fall quiet.

“Quick… quick, go hide near Shixiong Fang!” Each Wanluo disciple—regardless of whether they’d been contaminated by the bloody shadow or not—all ran towards the horse carriage as though their life depended on it. As for the imps, they were all surprised at first but quickly let out high-pitched squeaks and began to give chase.

Fang Xing sighed and shifted his finger, causing a sword to fly out from his storage sack. The sword shined brightly before swimming amidst the crowd like a silver snake, cutting past people until the air was filled with the pained cries of the imps that’d been chasing the Wanluo disciples. They all flew backwards and each now had a terrible gash on their necks—it was clear they wouldn’t have much longer to live. Such a sight caused the remaining imps to shiver with fear, and not a single one dared to move forward any longer.

Fang Xing’s expression was still curious, as though unable to understand. He swept his gaze across the cultivators from Ghost Kingdom and asked, “Why did you make that face at me?”

As for Li Ying on the opposite side of the basin, his face had become frigid. Suddenly, the Ghost general who’d been fighting Leng Ziyan suddenly let out a loud yell and instantly let go of Leng Ziyan before turning towards Fang Xing. “How dare you hurt the Ghost Kingdom’s flunkies! Your crimes deserve a million deaths!” He dashed towards Fang Xing so quickly he even left behind a trail of shadow. The scream of wronged souls lingered around him as his ghost Qi twisted into eight wicked hands that all clawed forward towards Fang Xing.

Fang Xing’s gaze chilled but he didn’t do anything immediately when faced with this, and it wasn’t until the Ghost general’s spectral hands nearly touched him that Fang Xing suddenly moved to the side. Golden wings appeared on his back, and he flew into the air with a swoosh . He raised his one-legged-man lance above his head with both hands as malice began to rise up from the black Refined Iron coating the statue, making it seem as though it was covered in a terrifying black flame.

Li Ying noticed the danger from this statue even from atop the palanquin. Bloodthirst glinted in his eyes as he stood up and yelled, “You dare—”

  BAM ….

Fang Xing didn’t respond to Li Ying’s words and simply slammed down his lance, causing the black malice covering the statue of the one-legged man to arrive in front of the Ghost general in an instant. By now, the Ghost general could sense the terrifying murderous intent surrounding Fang Xing, and he let out a loud yelp before covering himself in several layers of ghost Qi to try to block the strike from above.

  It was futile.

Faced with an attack utilizing Fang Xing’s true power, the thick layers of ghost Qi in front of the Ghost general were easily shredded and torn apart like pieces of cloth. The statue of the one-legged-man tore through it all and smashed into his head without any obstruction.

  WHAM ….

The Ghost general’s head exploded like an overripe watermelon. His body was sent flying a hundred or so feet away while twisting in the air….

All of this had happened in the blink of an eye; even the “you dare” from Li Ying hadn’t entirely finished.

Fang Xing drew back his one-legged-man lance and raised his head before giving a cold smile towards Li Ying. “You motherf*cking ghost kid, have you reincarnated so many times you were reborn as an idiot this time around? You dare provoke me? I obviously didn’t want to care about this at all. It would have been fine if that little thing of yours caught those people, but why the f*ck did he make a face at me? If you can’t explain everything, your little grandpa here will send you into another cycle of reincarnation!”

Despite the chaos mere moments ago, the basin was now so quiet even a falling pin could be heard. The only sound belonged to Fang Xing’s echoing curses.

Most of the cultivators even began to show looks of confusion, believing they’d heard wrong. That was Li Ying, the prince of Ghost Kingdom! He might be young, but his name was incredibly loud on this continent of Jambu, and it was agreed he was one of the most difficult Foundation Stage cultivators to deal with! Yet today, not only was his Ghost general killed right in front of him, someone actually started pointing and cursing at him in person?

It would have made sense if this had all be done for the sake of protecting his fellow Snowy Mountain disciples from the Ghost Kingdom’s actions, but he hadn’t said a single thing about this and instead focused on the fact the little imp had made a face at him? Who the hell would know why this imp had made a face at him? These things often act in strange ways; weren’t they always making some weird-looking face? Besides, he’d already killed one of their generals and seven imps, yet he was still acting as though he wanted to cause more trouble?

Some of the more knowledgeable cultivators who knew about the unique traditions of the Ghost Kingdom also knew the word “reincarnation” was a taboo word there. And yet, this kid dared to imply Li Ying had reincarnated so many times his mind had withered away, only to then demand a good explanation or else he’d send Li Ying on to his tenth reincarnation….

Was he trying to get himself killed by angering the Ghost Kingdom’s prince?

“I…. I’m…. I’m going to kill you….” Li Ying seemed to lose himself completely in his fury. He started yelling out while gasping for breath, and all kinds of wicked laughter could be heard as though he’d truly gone mad. The laughter was at times extremely sorrowful like the cries of children, making it extremely terrifying, and it was also amidst this cry that a bloody shadow appeared around him like an ocean of blood. It was impossible to know how many aggrieved souls had been drowned within this ocean and were crying out in desperation….

“I’m going to f*cking kill you first!” Fang Xing yelled out before dashing towards Li Ying. The pair of golden wings on his back vibrated and caused a trail of golden light to fly forward.

“Gaga… jeje….” Completely nonsensical laughter rose up from Li Ying before a bloody ray flew out from him towards Fang Xing.

  BOOM BOOM BOOM

The golden light collided with the bloody light in three loud collisions, causing terrifying sounds to crash in all directions while everyone’s expressions changed. No one had expected Fang Xing to be so vicious and take three full strikes from Li Ying from multiple directions, all without being disadvantaged at all.

The most surprised of all was Leng Ziyan and the Wanluo court disciples, and Leng Ziyan’s face in particular was filled with gloom and discouragement. He looked towards the terrifying scene in front of him where Fang Xing was chasing and attacking Li Ying, and he suddenly felt everything he’d done was nothing more than a joke. For some reason, he even remembered what Fang Xing had told him back at the Wanluo Court: “I won’t take your opportunity, but you can’t take my opportunities, either.”

Back then, in order to force Fang Xing to leave, he’d purposefully ordered people to spread rumors and say certain things to anger him. He wanted to be the “nice guy” who resolved the matter, yet Fang Xing had simply spoken the truth in a single sentence and turned away, leaving Leng Ziyan particularly angry with with intense embarrassment and regret. He’d heard of Fang Xing’s temperament before, and he was certain the kid would become angry at such treatment, yet that time he hadn’t; instead, Fang Xing spoke such a strange and confusing sentence before leaving with his broomstick.

At the time, Leng Ziyan believed Fang Xing had said such a thing because he was frightened. It wasn’t until now—when comparing his own battle prowess to Fang Xing’s—that he understood: although he’d considered Fang Xing his opponent, the sentiment wasn’t returned at all. The gap in power was simply too wide….

After those three attacks, Li Ying moved thirty feet back in midair while sneering at Fang Xing. “Jeje, for you to be able to take three of my strikes, your abilities are not—”

“Not your uncle!” Fang Xing yelled out before dashing forward and slamming his statue downward.

Li Ying’s expression changed completely ay this. He instantly brought up all of his ghost Qi to repel this strike while yelling in anger, “Don’t you—”

“Don’t your uncle!” Fang Xing instantly twisted his body and the golden wings on his back began to flutter. The number of golden sword feathers released from those wings were enough to cover the heaven and earth, and they all quickly converged towards Li Ying.

“Wah yayayaya….” Li Ying was so angry he could only let out furious yelps. An endless number of aggrieved souls appeared, forming into a thin layer that blocked off the assault from the golden sword feathers.

“Ya your uncle!” Fang Xing let out another violent growl and struck out with the one-legged-man statue once more. The Qi instilled inside was increased this time, and the thin layer of black flame covering the statue released a terrible and suffocating pressure.

  BOOM ….

Li Ying had no choice but to raise his ghost Qi to its utmost and push it out in defense. Amidst the loud explosion, an amazing amount of ghost Qi and malice began to spread out like a torrential rainstorm, with wind blowing so powerfully that everyone nearby couldn’t even open their eyes.

Li Ying and Fang Xing were both pushed fifty feet back this time, and after finally getting his moment to speak, Li Ying jumped in anger. “It was you who killed my Ghost servants, killed my Ghost general, and it was you who actively attacked me first! Yet you’re still chasing after me trying to attack your grandpa! What the hell do you want? You really think I—Li Ying—am someone so easily bullied? You really think I don’t have any dangerous methods?” At the end, he added, “And don’t curse my uncle; I don’t even f*cking have an uncle!”

“I’ll just have to curse all of your ancestors then!” Fang Xing turned into a golden ray as he dashed towards Li Ying once more and waved his statue to attack.

  BOOM ….

Black ghost Qi began to erupt out from Li Ying’s body like a volcano, and it was so powerful even the little ponytail above his head was made to stand up straight. His eyes were lit with ghostly flames like two spectral lanterns, and he used his spirit sense to spread his ghost Qi from his body to form into a giant nearly-real hand. The hand was poised as though to hold up the heavens as it tried to block Fang Xing’s strike. “Don’t push your luck. You really want to fight me to the death?” Li Ying’s voice was filled with anger and desperation, and there was even a trace of feeling wronged.

Fang Xing drew back his one-legged-man statue, and two strands of Qi—one gold, one black—began to surround him and gradually move. His aura became more and more lively with a hint of viciousness and might as he began to sneer. “So what if I push it? If you really have the courage, just come and fight me to the death!”

Li Ying’s gaze actually trembled when he heard this and some concern formed on his face.
