“I am Fang Xing. I am the Fang Xing that will kill your whole family if you f*ck with a single hair of my people!”
After that cold and calm response, Fang Xing’s gaze swept across the speechless faces of the black-robed, red-browed, and blue-robed Golden Core cultivators before looking towards the thoroughly enraged Grand Ender Jing Guang. Sneering, he grabbed Chu Ci and moved into the depths of the Mysterious Domain with wide steps, and the Peng King sucked out all of Yuan Shenglian’s and Jing Fu’s blood essence before following closely behind.
His black flag danced in the air, his silhouette was lonesome, and beneath his feet was a bloody mess of a once-chaotic battleground. In the middle of it all was the dried up corpse of Jing Fu, whose dried eye sockets looked towards the sky destined not to see the moon tonight.
Neither Fang Xing nor Grand Elder Jing Guang knew, but at the innermost depths of the Mysterious Domain, inside an immortal’s cave filled with immortal’s Qi, there was a mysterious stone tablet clad in thick white smog with its name written at the top in the language of the immortals. After the battle of the small stone bridge ended, a line of words slowly began to appear on the central section, also in the same language.
More than thirty lines had already been formed above this new one, recording things ordinary people couldn’t understand. If Fang Xing were here right now and had his Book of Revelation activated, however, he’d be able to read the top words as “Accolades of the Gods”, and the new line showed “Fang Xing of Jambu, killed seventy-two, ranked thirty-seven”.
The lines above his record were filled with names and accomplishments from “Videha”. This tablet was extremely mysterious and difficult for outsiders to interpret, but if they did, they would certainly be amazed by it.
Fang Xing was the first person from the northern continent of Jambu to appear on it!
—
Three thousand miles away above the clouds was a giant buddhist hall with grandiose splendor. Inside sat a dozen or so Golden Cores, and all of their gazes were focused on a golden scripture scroll held in the hands of a buddhist statue in front of them. Right now, what the script was showing wasn’t buddhist verses, but instead moving frames and pictures to reflect in real time precisely what was happening inside the Mysterious Domain.
This place was the greatest and most honorable shrine, and that golden scripture was the most precious treasure of Spirit Mountain Temple: the Scroll of Observed Reflection.
This golden scripture allowed some images and scenes from the Mysterious Domain to be viewed from the outside. Although these Golden Cores could only see some of the events happening inside involving their own youths through this scroll and it didn’t cover everything, it did help them understand some of what was happening.
Normally speaking, the deeper someone ventured into the Mysterious Domain, the more difficult it was for this scroll to show it whereas the border locations were reflected with far more clarity. Right now, these Golden Cores had just finished watching a battle at one edge of the formation involving that giant-flag-wielding silhouette holding a girl before it walked into the depths of the Mysterious Domain. The pictures had already stopped, yet the Golden Cores still seemed to be immersed in what they saw.
On the far left of the grand hall, the grand elder of the Sword Cleansing Court—Mu Longyin—lightly sighed and spoke towards the similarly stunned old Wanluo, “Fellow Daoist Wanluo, you kept it hidden for so long. So you’ve had a disciple as good as this in the Snowy Mountain and kept quiet about it….”
Demon God Valley’s Zhang Daoyi smiled instead. “We searched for him the entire time and were disappointed we couldn’t find him, but it turns out he was under our nose the entire time. This isn’t a bad thing; it means our disciples of the Snowy Mountain soon won’t have to worry about their safety once this kid helps them and adds to their battle prowess…. This kid’s battle prowess is really something!”
As for the old man Hu Qin, he only showed a polite smile and said nothing.
Wanluo didn’t speak either. After a long while, he finally looked towards Chu Taishang and asked, “Are you going, Old Chu?”
Chu Taishang’s expressions were rather difficult to read and no one could tell what was on his mind. When he heard old Wanluo’s words, he didn’t respond and instead stood up, moved his large robe out of the way, and flew out from the great shrine in a ray of golden light. The old monster Wanluo gave a cold laugh before following closely behind.
—
Outside the Mysterious Domain near the small stone bridge, the three Golden Cores were all surprised and felt some recognition towards that name. “Fang Xing? This kid is called Fang Xing? Why does that name sound familiar?”
After a long while, the red-browed Daoist suddenly screamed in surprise, “I wondered who had such abilities within Chufung! It’s him! It’s actually him! This kid, the little monster who first betrayed the Qingyun Sect, killed their young elite Xiao Jianming, and then fought the Melodic Ice Palace’s Ye Gu’yin and left her disadvantaged…. He’s actually already formed the Foundation, and with such battle prowess….”
“It’s him….” The blue-robed Daoist was also stunned. The sour bitterness in his heart was indescribable.
In order to prepare for the opening of the mysterious coffin, all the Golden Cores had researched the youths of the nearby areas so they could better understand all the young elites who might become a threat to their own. This Fang Xing didn’t show himself to the public eye often, but every time he did his actions caused infamous events one after another that made everyone despise him. It was only natural that his name ended up standing out and everyone had more or less heard of such a person, but not even they had expected that the cheeky youth they met today was precisely that little monster!
The black-robed Daoist from the Taixuan Sect smiled bitterly and shook his head. “Rumors say he’s in Spirit Stage, but considering what just happened… the rumors were wrong….”
“I don’t care if he’s Fang Xing or Claw Xing, I’m going to kill his entire clan!” a stern voice suddenly yelled out at them, startling the three Golden Cores as they saw a madly furious old Jing Guang. “Now, as for you guys….”
Taixuan Sect’s black-robed Daoist sensed the murderous intent from the old Jing Guang and yelled out, “Fellow Daoist Jing Guang, all three of us had our disciples either killed or heavily wounded. Don’t vent your anger on us….”
“If it weren’t for you scheming against me with that brat, how could things wind up like this?” Old Jing Guang didn’t listen to this advice and threw out a palm strike towards that black-robed Daoist. In mere moments, another battle began around the small stone bridge.
The weight of the battle between four Golden Cores was incredibly heavy. The old Jing Guang was like an angry lion and filled with murderous intent as he attacked violently with his spells in all directions, and although he was only a single person, he was still able to directly suppress the other three Golden Cores. The battleground shifted from the small stone bridge to the skies above, then towards the north until it arrived directly above the City of Appointed General.
Such a dire battle soon grabbed everyone’s attention. Faced with the attacks of a maddened Jing Guang, the appearances of the black-robed, red-browed, and blue-robed Daoists had already become rather pitiful and their robes were all tattered. Although the three of them had joined forces, they’d done so not to win but to simply safely retreat and were still strained and scared out of their wits by this lone cultivator. This was especially the case for the red-browed Daoist who was the weakest of the three; if the other two hadn’t been protecting him, he would have nearly died.
“All three of you will die….” Grand Elder Jing Guang didn’t hold back at all, and his viciousness was incomparable—he was dead set on venting all of his fury on these three Golden Cores. As for the black-robed, red-browed, and blue-robed Daoists, they could only try to battle while slowly retreating, hoping to find the right opportunity to flee.
A number of other Golden Cores watched from the surroundings in the sky. Although the City of Appointed General had a rule of “no fighting in the city”, even the Han clan’s grand elder who was guarding the city could only tightly shut his mouth and watch from the sidelines. Old Jing Guang in such an enraged state was not someone anyone dared to annoy further, after all; they might all be Golden Core Stage cultivators, but before daring to try to step in and stop this quarrel, they first had to evaluate whether they were even able to do so.
Just as the other three Golden Cores were about to be finished off, a golden cloud suddenly flew towards them at an extraordinary speed. The aura on top of the cloud caused even Grand Elder Jing Guang to be a bit startled, and he temporarily paused while looking coldly at the new arrival. Although he was venting his anger, it still depended on who the opponent was, and the aura atop this cloud belonged to someone not even he could take lightly.
As the cloud came closer, a rather wretched old man came into view, but the expression of this old man was rather serious and his peculiar gaze stopped on the face of Grand Elder Jing Guang. “You are Jing Guang?” he asked with a cold laugh.
“I am the Jing Guang of the western deserts,” Jing Guang coldly replied. “Is there something you want from me, fellow Daoist?”
The wretched old man didn’t answer him and instead continued to ask, “Did you provoke a kid called Fang Xing?”
The malice within Jing Guang’s eyes grew. “Yeah, so?”
The wretched old man began to sneer. “I heard you’re going to kill his entire clan and massacre anyone who has even a passing relationship with him?”
“I did say that. What about it?” The old Jing Guang wasn’t sure what this wretched old man’s intentions were so he responded with a sneer as well.
The wretched old man let out a loud yet chilling laugh. “This old man here is his shifu, so why don’t you come and kill me!”
“You?” The Grand Elder Jing Guang understood in an instant and became furious—this person had come to seek revenge! But face to face with such an old monster whose battle prowess he wasn’t certain of, he began to hesitate about actually fighting. Before he’d even made up his mind, however, another cold voice rose up.
“You’re Jing Guang?”
This left Grand Elder Jing Guang even more furious and he immediately turned around. On top of a golden cloud stood an elderly man in a golden robe, and the aura around him was also late-Golden Core Stage. Jing Guang didn’t dare to be too offensive and curbed some of his savagery. “And who are you?”
The golden-robed elder ignored his question and returned one of his own: “Did you hurt a girl in a purple dress?”
“She was wounded by my great great granddaughter, but let’s just say I was the one who did it. What about it?” Grand Elder Jing Guang replied.
The golden-robed elder became quiet. After a long while, he finally began to slowly speak, “That is my great great granddaughter!”
This caused the grand elder Jing Guang’s face to immediately change.
It had only been a rather ordinary-looking pair, nothing more than a youth and a girl he’d nearly killed with a couple of fingers, yet how could he anticipate such a turn of events? Those two had such powerful backgrounds? He couldn’t help but to take this far more seriously. Not a single person would want to offend old monsters like these with such high levels of cultivation, yet today two of them had appeared at the same time to seek revenge! Not only did he begin to take the matter more seriously, he began to air some of his grievances as well. “My granddaughter, my grandson-in-law, and all my disciples are dead. What else do you want?” he screamed out in frustration.
Faced with the grand elder Jing Guang at the peak of anger, old Wanluo and Chu Taishang merely exchanged glances before Chu Taishang began to speak. “This is Chufung. Where did an old monster from the western deserts find the courage to behave in such an atrocious manner here? If I—the grand elder of the Chu royal court—allowed you to behave in such a manner without any interference, isn’t that the same as saying we allow such behavior within this kingdom? Would that not allow chaos to spread and create problems for all of Chufung?”
Chu Taishang needed to find a reason to take action—he needed to first create a justification based on morality and justice regarding the opponent’s actions. It was far too easy for the old Wanluo, however; he simply rolled his eyes and yelled out two words: “Kill him!”
Rumble rumble rumble ….
Another battle began, but this time it was Grand Elder Jing Guang who was trying to flee.
