Chapter 358: stagnant time zone

As soon as Lu Mingshu let little daze out of the portable stable, it began to lick Lu Mingshu everywhere.

“Okay, okay.” Lu Mingshu pushed it away and wiped the saliva off her body. “You must be bored in there all the time, right? Now you are allowed to stay here.”

Little daze ran around Lu Mingshu excitedly.

She gave it a piece of rabbit meat and stroked it’s mane before pointing in a direction. “You can run around, but not too far away.”

Little Daze licked her happily again before trotting off.

Lu Mingshu turned back and walked towards the little temporary house they built. Xie Lianzhen was sitting inside, reading a book about medicine that she exchanged for him from the heavenly wheel. He was so obsessed that he did not realize Lu Mingshu had come in.

If anybody saw what Lu Mingshu could see, they would surely turn green in envy of how luxurious their life was.

The small house, along with the door and furniture was made out of wood and Yuan crystals. Anyone who stayed here would be able to receive energy that the Yuan crystal emanated every second. As a result, Lu Mingshu was almost fully healed.

However, she did not seem happy. She sighed and sat down on the chair, taking her pocket watch out.

She got the pocket watch from the heavenly wheel, and not only she could use it to tell time, it works as a compass too. And now, the second hand of the pocket watch isn’t moving at all.

Lu Mingshu thought that it was spoiled. But after a closer inspection, she realized that the watch was just functioning differently.

  ~What happened?~

On the other hand, Xie Lianzhen had just finished reading the <basics to alchemy> that Lu Mingshu had gotten him. He closed the book happily and sighed in contentment. “Where did you get this? This method of making medicine…oh no, I mean alchemy is incredible!”

“Not important. If you like it, than keep it.” Lu Mingshu kept her pocket watch and smiled.

“Thanks! This is extremely useful!” Xie Lianzhen smiled widely and thanked Lu Mingshu. “The contents of the book are very helpful and gave me tons of inspiration. It will help improve the quality of my medication by more than two times!”

Lu Mingshu nodded and passed him another book. “What about this? Do you like it?”

Xie Lianzhen scooted closer to get a better look. His eyes lit up upon seeing the title <Best of alchemy>. Xie Lianzhen snatched the book away from her quickly and started to read, totally ignoring Lu Mingshu.

Lu Mingshu stopped bothering him and went back to the house, entering the heavenly wheel.

Thanks to the magician, the both of them managed to steal Yuan crystals from the spell formation and Lu Mingshu used them to repay her debts and exchange for numerous items.

If everything went well, they will fully recover after a few more months of resy.

Lu Mingshu pondered for a moment and decided to hit up brother six.

  “Brother six, are you there?”

“Ya, you’re back! Anything you want to exchange?”

Brother six had earned quite a huge amount of money these days from helping her exchange items. Seeing that she called for him, he responded immediately.

But to his disappointment , Lu Mingshu wasn’t there to exchange for anything.

“Oh, no brother six. Can you help me check if my pocket watch is spoilt?”

  “Sure. Mail it over.”

Lu Mingshu mailed it through the heavenly wheel’s portal.

Not long after, she received a reply. “It’s working fine.

“All good?” Lu Mingshu felt her heart sink. “Is the time accurate?”

“There is a time difference in our worlds. I can’t tell if it is accurate or not but it’s functioning perfectly.” Brother Six sent her watch back.

Lu Mingshu took her watch and stared at it in confusion. “Brother six, wait for me a second.”

  “Huh? Okay.”

Lu mingshu exited the heavenly wheel and checked the watch. The second hand was still at the same spot, and it wasn’t moving. ~If the problem isn’t the watch, then is it the time?~

She went back into the heavenly wheel. “Brother six, under what situation will time become slower?”

“You are in a stagnant time zone?” Brother six replied. “I am not sure. Maybe because something or some spell caused it. I suggest you ask a magician.”

  “….Thank you brother six.”

Lu Mingshu stared at space blankly after ending her conversation with brother six. She immediately contacted the magician that she had always asked for help to get a better understanding of the situation she was in right now.

“Sir Zhu, please contact me when you are available.”

“Miss, is there anything wrong?” The magician replied in no time.

Lu Mingshu explained her situation to him.

“Stagnant time zone?” He sounded excited. “Miss, please repeat yourself again.”

After confirming what she said, he paused for a while before replying. “I’ll get back to you in a few days. This is an extremely rare case and I need to do some research.”

  “Sorry for the trouble.”

As soon as she exited the heavenly wheel, she could see little boo waddling towards her at a fast speed.

  “Master, master!”

  “Yes?”

Little boo’s eyes blinked profusely, trying ut’s best to speak faster. However, it’s voice is still robotic. “Master, your pet isn’t moving anymore.”

  “Not moving?”

Lu Mingshu almost jumped out of her skin.

“What do you mean by not moving?” Xie Lianzhen looked up from the book.

“Ka. I can’t seem to wake it up.” Little boo said.

Lu Mingshu shared a glance wuth Xie lianzhen before jumping up. “Let’s go!”

Little daze wasn’t far away. It was in the tunnel which led to the Yuan crystal mine.

The both of them hurried inside to see little daze lying on the Yuan crystals, and there were even some in it’s mouth.

Seeing this, Lu Mingshu’s face turned black. “Why does this idiot eat everything it sees? Who in the world would eat a crystal? See, you’re in trouble right now!”

Xie Lianzhen bend down to feel it’s pulse. “Eh?” He raised an eyebrow.

“What’s wrong?” Lu Mingshu was pacing up and down, like a cat on hot coal.

But Xie Lianzhen did not reply. He did a thorough check on Little daze before looking up at Lu Mingshu, with a smile on his face. “No worries. It’s something good.”

  “Good sign?”

“Yeah.” Xie Lianzhen nodded. “It’s evolving.”

“Evolving?” Lu Mingshu stared at him in disbelief. “Thanks to eating Yuan crystals?”

“Should be.” Xie Lianzhen laughed. “Fortune indeed favours the bold. The Yuan crystals in this mine are extremely pure. It must have gained a huge amount of mystic force in one go to suddenly be able to break through. Relax, it’s fine but it might not wake up anytime soon.”

~I’m just glad it’s okay.~ Lu Mingshu heaved a sigh of relief and turned to little boo. “Check on it everyday and inform me if anything changes.”

  “Ka, yes, master.”

Lu Mingshu felt tired after all this and went back to take a rest.

After a few days, she received a message from the magician. “Hi, Miss Lu. Please contact me.”

“Yes, Sir Zhu?” Lu Mingshu contacted him immediately upon seeing his message.

“Regarding the stagnant time zone, there are two possibilities. One, the space you are in right now is slower than a normal one. It’s like how the heavenly wheel works.”

“Yeah.” One day in the outside world, ten days in the heavenly wheel.

“And secondly, it might be that the space you are in is frozen.”

“What do you mean.” Lu Mingshu did not understand.

“Let me give you an example. A storage space. To keep things fresh, we freeze time to ensure that the things inside stay fresh even after a long time.”

The explanation was simple, but Lu Mingshu got more confused. “But I am in a herbal garden. How would the herbs grow if they freeze time.”

“Miss Lu.” He laughed. “Freezing time is a way to store unique herbs. Maybe the garden you are in has a special type of herb that needs special care but the owner does not have time to tend it now. So he or she chose to freeze time temporarily.”
